The University of Verona strives for excellence in teaching, research and innovation. It has 30,000 students and 1,500 staff including lecturers, researchers, technical and administrative personnel who work to continually improve and grow the university.

Full Professor of Business Administration
She has served as the Rector’s Delegate for Budget and as Director of the Department of Management. Her work focuses on governance, measurement, and management of economic, social, and environmental performance, with a particular emphasis on healthcare and the non-profit sector. She coordinates the Healthcare Management Group within the Department of Management.

Deputy Rector
Full Professor of General Surgery
He has served as a member of the Academic Senate as the Representative of the Full Professors of the Science, Life, and Health Area, Director of the Department of Surgical, Odontostomatological, and Materno-Infantile Sciences, and as the Delegate of the Rector for the Specialization Schools in the Healthcare Area for the Hospitals in the Territory. Since 2011, he has been the Director of the Unit of General and Upper GI Surgery at the AOUI of Verona.

The General Director oversees all Technical and Administrative Structures, manages and organizes the university’s services as a whole, and is responsible for the institution’s instrumental resources.

Full Professor of Plant Physiology 
His research activity focuses on the conversion of CO2 into bioproducts of industrial interest, exploiting photosynthetic organisms. Coordinator of several national and international projects, including three ERC projects and one EIC-Transition project. Inventor of three internationally extended patents, founding member of the university spin-off ASTEASIER srl. He was the coordinator of the doctoral program in Biotechnology.

She studies immunological mechanisms in brain diseases and coordinates a spoke for the PNRR MNESYS project. She has received several European, national, and US grants and has been awarded four European Research Council (ERC) projects. She was Deputy Director of the Department of Medicine, coordinator of the PhD program in Inflammation, Immunity, and Cancer, and co-delegate for research

Full professor of Mathematical Analysis

His research interests are Calculus of Variations and Partial Differential Equations with applications in Geometry, Physics and Materials Science. He is the coordinator of European projects of excellence such as Erasmus Mundus Joint Master and Marie Sklodowska-Curie Action. He has been President of the Bachelor and Master degree in Mathematics and Vice-Director of the Department of Computer Science.

Full Professor of Cell and Applied Biology
Her research focuses on the molecular mechanisms regulating gene expression in 3D cellular models. She is Chair of the Teaching Board of the Degree Program in Medicine and Surgery, Academic referent for Teaching at the Department of Neurosciences, Biomedicine and Movement and at the School of Medicine, and Faculty Coordinator for Internationalization. She has also served on the University’s council of administration.

His research activity focuses, among other things, on the functionalization of the organization and operations of Public Administration, as well as on the administrative regulation of territorial governance. Full Professor of Mathematical Methods for Economics, Finance and Insurance
He has published in the main scientific journals of mathematical finance with special focus on the topic of risk management. He was Director of the Center for Finance and Insurance at the University of Zurich. He is a member of the Third Mission Committee at the Department of Economics and is regularly involved in orientation and guidance initiatives in high schools.

Associate Professor of Computer Science

He focuses on temporal reasoning models applied to business and medical processes, as well as retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) models. He collaborates with partners in the USA, Austria, and France in the field of temporal reasoning and with the Verona University Hospital to develop RAG models to support patient information services. He has served as a member of the Academic Senate and is the Information Technology Services Coordinator for his Department.

She focuses on psychological and organizational wellbeing and inclusion, coordinating scientific, clinical, educational, and outreach projects. She is Coordinator of the PhD Program in Neuroscience, Psychological and Psychiatric Sciences, and Movement Sciences, former Departmental Quality Assurance Delegate for Knowledge Transfer and Public Engagement, and a Consultant-level Psychologist specialized in managing psychological factors related to adverse events.

He has also served as a member of the Academic Senate

Full Professor of Molecular Biology
He teaches Molecular Biology, Virology and Gene Therapy. He conducts research on virology, viral vectors and genetic editing. Responsible for projects on SARS-CoV-2 and infections related to neurodegenerative diseases, he trained at Stanford and the Institut Pasteur. Author of over 80 articles, Lecturer of the Year 2020, former member of the Academic Senate and evaluator for EU agencies.

He works on models and techniques for managing and processing spatio-temporal data in the fields of geography and tourism. He has contributed to the Italian standard for geo-topographic databases and led research projects on archaeological and tourism data. He has been the Director of the CLA since 2020, where he promoted the CLA CINECA software platform.

His work focuses on molecular oncology, with a particular emphasis on functional genomics, an area in which he coordinates several scientific projects. He coordinates and takes part in projects funded by AIRC, MUR, the NCI (USA), and the European Union, including a doctoral network. He is the Coordinator of the PhD program in “Inflammation, Immunity and Cancer” and a member of the CIRSAL Board of Directors.

He works on chronic kidney disease, kidney stones, and rare kidney diseases. He is Secretary of the Italian Dialysis and Transplant Registry, Coordinator of the Scientific Committee of the Italian Society of Nephrology, and Board Member of the “CKD-MBD” workgroup and the ERA Registry. Senior Collaborator at the Channing Division (Harvard School of Public Health). He leads the Residency Program in Nephrology and serves on the Board of ARC-NET.

Associate Professor of History of the Book and Publishing
Her scholarly work concentrates on publishing processes with specific interests in the study of the early printed book as a cultural artifact and a commercial product. Within these fields, she directs postgraduate training courses. She collaborates with professional associations and publishers in the areas of research and serves as Director of the Research Center in Bibliotherapy, she is a member of the University’s Postgraduate Studies Committee and she sits on the CUCI Communication Committee.

Associate Professor of Chemical Plants

His research focuses on wastewater treatment and resource recovery. He coordinates and participates in national and European projects (Horizon Europe, MSCA, LIFE, Eurostars). He is a member of the Quality Assurance Committee for the Biotechnology Bachelor’s Programme and of the Public Engagement and Knowledge Transfer Committee. He was Vice President of the University’s RUS Commission and is part of the technical committee for the sustainability report.

Associate Professor of Labour Law

His research focuses on occupational health and safety, the impact of new technologies on work, and anti-discrimination law. He is actively engaged in several scientific projects in these areas. He is currently Director of the Advanced and Professional Development Course in Labour Consultancy and formerly served as Coordinator of the Bachelor’s Degree in Legal Services for Enterprises, Public Administrations and Non-Profit Organizations.

Associate Professor of Demo-Ethno-Anthropological Disciplines
She works on inclusion and inequalities, with research on Roma/Sinti and anti-Gypsyism in Europe, on mobile peoples and anti-nomadism in contexts of international cooperation. She is Director of the CREAa - Centre for Ethnographic Research and Applied Anthropology “Francesca Cappelletto” and President of the Research Policy Commission of the Department of Human Sciences.

Research Fields:  history of medieval religious movements, history of ecclesiastical institutions, history of the Church of Verona, and history of women. She is responsible for the national project “Unconventionally mendicant. Voluntary poverty and mendicancy between religious inspiration and institutions”. She is a member of the Research Commission of the Department of Culture and Civilization.

Full Professor of General Psychology

She conducts research in cognitive neuroscience, focusing on the neural dynamics of visual awareness in both physiological and pathological conditions. She has received funding from national and international agencies for basic and pre-competitive research projects in these domains. She coordinates the Perception and Awareness (PandA) Lab and has held several institutional roles in departmental committees and the doctoral program board.

Her research interests concern teaching and learning innovation, teacher education, and faculty development. She is Co-Research Director of the project "Teaching in the Post-Digital Age" in collaboration with Radboud University (Netherlands). She is Director of the University’s Teaching and Learning Center and Quality Assurance Coordinator for the Department of Human Sciences. She was a member of the Quality Assurance Committee.

Director of Paediatric Dentistry and Dental Hygiene at IRCCS Sacro Cuore, the first clinical hub of the University of Verona. President of the Degree Programme in Dental Hygiene, she previously led Dentistry and was Deputy President of Medicine. With wide clinical, academic, and governance experience, she advances prevention, integration, and community healthcare, and is President of the Italian Society of Dental Traumatology.
