Scopri i servizi e le risorse online delle biblioteche di AteneoYou can only access and stay at the Frinzi, Meneghetti and Santa Marta libraries in order to study, consult books or make photocopies, but first you need to book a place via the Affluences app, which allows you to book a place at the library while complying with social distancing rules.
The Affluences app for smartphones can be downloaded for free from App Store or Google Play, and it can be accessed online from any browsers.
To book a place via the app, you will need to enter your institutional email address (@univr.it; @studenti.univr.it) and select one of the available places in one or more time slots.
Members of staff of the University Hospital of Verona (Azienda Ospedaliera Universitaria Integrata di Verona) may book a place at Meneghetti Library by writing to: prestiti.meneghetti@ateneo.univr.it
At the time of entering the library, you will need to confirm that you have taken your booked seat by scanning a QR code. If you do not confirm your seat (from 10 minutes before, or within 20 minutes of, your booked time of arrival), your booking will be automatically cancelled. Please note that you must always confirm your seat at the beginning of each time slot, even if you booked multiple consecutive slots.
Should you need to leave your seat before the end of the time slot, please cancel your booking, so that it can be made available to others.
Please note that your booking is personal to you, then you are advised not to change or give up your seat. In the event that, following random ID checks, it is found that a student has given their booking to someone else, the student who made the booking will be reported to the University’s disciplinary board. Such conduct not only constitutes a disciplinary offence that can be punished by the University, but may also constitute a criminal offence pursuant to Article 615quater (unauthorised possession and dissemination of access codes via computer or telematic systems) and 494 (fraud of impersonation) of the Italian Criminal Code.
Users who do not have a smartphone and the Affluences app are advised that they should contact the Library’s staff.
Until further notice and for all the other libraries, the current Guidelines on University access during the Covid-19 emergency, for University users shall remain in place.
For further information, ask a librarian.
In order to access databases, online journals, e-books, and full-text from home or from non-University computers, you will need to use the VPN service (we recommend you download Pulse Secure, instructions here).
University Library users are now able to choose from a constantly expanding catalogue of more than 200,000 e-books. Just search for a book by title and/or author on Universe: the e-book version will be displayed when available.
A list of e-books from databases or collections acquired by the University, freely made available to University users and organised into subject areas, can be found here.
Moreover, an updated list of e-books included in some of the University’s degree programmes’ syllabus – organised into subject areas too – is available here.
If you are a University user, you can read an e-book from home simply by accessing the VPN service via Pulse Secure, and then click on the full-text link.
Following the Covid-19 emergency, many additional resources, have been made available to University users, including e-books for study and research, accessible free of charge and for a period which varies depending on each publisher.
University users can request the digital version of a book (e-book) by submitting a specific form.
The University’s libraries offer their users more than 100 online databases, which can be accessed both through Universe, and the relevant web page (Cerca la banca dati), where you can find a short description of each database and the relevant access requirements.
In addition, more than 40,000 electronic journals from a wide range of disciplines can be read on Universe. These can also be found simply by searching by title on the relevant web page (Cerca la rivista).
Please note that there are more than 200,000 electronic journals on Universe, including open access journals, which are made available based on a selection made by our librarians.
Following the Covid-19 emergency, many additional resources have been temporarily made available for free by various publishing groups to University of Verona users, especially, but not only, in the biomedical field, to meet their needs in terms of teaching and research.
If you are a University user, all you need to do to have access to an online resource from home is to access the VPN service via Pulse Secure and click on the full-text link.
If you have any questions or need assistance, please ask a librarian.
