Programma

The course is based on the textbook English File Digital Gold 3rd edition (OUP:2017) and follows the parameters of the CEFR. The most important tasks of this B2 computer exam course is the development of vocabulary and particular language in context, involving both reading and listening skills and of course consolidation of knowledge of grammar introduction of more advanced structures. The course also gives practice in the exercises present on the exam.

Modalit� d'esame

The written B2 exam consists of 3 questions to be completed in 60 minutes. Dictionaries are not allowed. 1. Open Cloze: a short text with 10 spaces to be completed with one word that makes the grammar and sense of the sentence correct. Missing words can be articles, auxiliary verbs, pronouns, prepositions, connectors, verb forms as well lexical words to complete collocation, phrasal verbs, fixed sentences. Any answer correct is worth 1 point for a maximum of 10 points. The spelling of the chosen word must be correct. 2. Sentence Transformations: There are 5 complete sentences followed by one keyword and one incomplete second sentence. You have to complete the second sentence in order for it to have it same meaning as the first, using between 2 and 5 words, including the keyword, which cannot be changed. In this exercise you need to know how to use different grammatical forms and synonyms to express the same ideas. Each sentence is worth 2 points each. Total: 10 points. 3. Essay: Write a essay of 180-200 words expressing your opinion on a statement or examining the pros and cons of an issue. The argument of the question can address the following topics: science and technology, the environment, school, culture, health, lifestyles, travel, and social issues. The evaluation of the topic will be based on the content, grammar, vocabulary, organization of the text, and the adequacy of language.
