Modalit d'esame

Time: 90 minutes The C1 written exam consists of two parts. Part 1 Formal email/letter (mandatory task) Candidates are given a task based on a situation (for example making a complaint/job advertisement/invitation to an event) with some point to include. Candidates must produce a formal email or letter (150-180 words) in an appropriate register. Part 2: Choice of task Candidates choose one of several task options for which they have to write an extended piece of writing (250 words), in an appropriate register, according to the instructions in the task. The different possible types of writing are: articles, reviews, argumentative essays, descriptive essays, narratives, reports and proposals. There are five options to choose from, and in addition to these there is one question for each of the set books of the C1 courses in that semester. (Each course has a different set book: for this course it is The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald.) Candidates are free to choose any of the set book questions, not necessarily the one of the course they attended.
