Programma

The course is 40 hours and the lessons will be held on-site. Grammar - reported speech, the passive, zero, first, second and third conditionals, clauses of contrast and purpose, articles, relative clauses, gerunds and infinitives. Vocabulary: feelings, sleep, music, the body, crime and punishment, the media, advertising and business, science ecc. Practice of the exam exercises namely open cloze and sentence transformations. Modalit� d'esame

n the English B2 online written exam there are 3 questions to complete in 60 minutes. Open Cloze: You have to read a short text with 10 gaps and complete the gaps with one word in order to make the sentence grammatically correct and meaningful. This exercise tests grammatical words like articles, auxiliary verbs, pronouns, prepositions, linking words, verb forms, and lexical collocations, phrasal verbs, fixed phrases. Each correct word scores 1 point so the maximum is 10 points for this question. The word must be spelt correctly to score the point. Sentence Transformations: there are 5 complete sentences followed by a key word and a second incomplete sentence. You have to complete the second sentence so that it has a similar meaning to the first, using between 2 and 5 words including the key word, which cannot be changed. This exercise tests grammar and vocabulary by asking you to use different structures and words to express the same ideas. Each sentence is worth 2 points so the maximum is 10 points for this question. Essay: You have to write an essay of approximately 200 words giving your opinion on a statement or discussing a question. The topic of the question could be: science and technology, the environment, education, culture and entertainment, health and lifestyle, travel, social issues. The essay will be assessed for relevant content, range and accuracy of grammar and vocabulary, organization of ideas and appropriate register. This question is worth 20 points maximum. The oral exam You will take the oral exam with another or two other students. You will be asked to describe a picture individually and you will then have a conversation with the other student. You will be evaluated on pronunciation, lexis, grammar, discourse management and interactive communication. The oral exam is based on the Cambridge First Certificate and you can see some videos posted below of what to expect and some 'humorous but good' advice.
