Programma

The B2 course is 80 hours long, it begins in the first semester with the first 40 hours and ends in the second with the last 40 hours with a break for the Christmas holidays and the January exam session. The lessons will be held online and they will be recorded. During the course we will use a text book that will help the student with grammar, more complex language and vocabulary. During the lessons the student will be asked to complete exercises in preparation for the B2 computer based test. Exercises will focus on cloze tests, reading and listening comprehensions as well as sentence transformation and essay writing. Topics Illnesses and injuries, clothes and fashion, air travel, the environment, weather, feelings, sleep, music, the body, crime and punishment, the media, advertising and business, science ecc. Grammar Question formation, auxiliary verbs, pres. perf. simple and continuous, narrative tenses, past perf. continuous, adverbs, future perfect and future continuous, zero and first cond., future time clauses, unreal conditionals, gerunds and infinitives, past modals, the passive (all forms) ecc.

Modalit� d'esame

At the end of the B2 course, the students will be able to access the B2 computer based test at the CLA and then the written and oral tests. The computer based test consists in: 1 cloze test (gap -fill exercise on grammar and vocabulary) 1 c-test (gap-fill exercise on grammar and vocabulary) 1 reading comprehension 3 listening comprehensions The written exam has two parts. The first part evaluates the student's knowledge of reading comprehension, grammar and vocabulary. The students have to complete two exercises: 1 open cloze and 5 sentence transformations. The second part of the exam is a composition of 180-200 words on a current topic. The oral exam consists in a 10/15 minute discussion with the teacher and another student.
