Programma

The programme consists of studying the following grammar rules and vocabulary topics: 1. Question formation, auxiliary verbs, the ...the, compraratives. Working out meaning from context, compound adjectives and modifiers. 2.Present perfect simple and continuous, using adjectives as nouns and adjective order. Illnesses and injuries; clothes and fashion. 3. Narrative tenses, past perfect continuous, so / such... that; the position of adverbs and adverbial phrases. Air travel, talking about books. 4. The future perfect and future continuous, zero and first conditionals, future time clauses. The environment, weather, expressions with take. 5. Unreal conditionals (second and third), wish for present/future, wish for past regrets. Feelings, expressing feelings with verbs or -ed/-ing adjectives. 6. Used to, be used to, get used to. Gerunds and infinitives. Sleep and music. 7. Past modals: must have etc., would rather. Verbs of the senses. Verbs often confused. The body. 8. The passive (all forms); have something done; it is said that..., he is thought to ... etc. Crime and punishment. The media. 9. Clauses of contrast and purpose; uncountable and plural nouns; prefixes and suffixes. Advertising and business. 10. Quantifiers; all, every, both etc.; articles. Translation of sentences from Italian into English.

Modalit� d'esame

The written test consists of: Part 1 10 sentences to be translated from Italian into English Part 2 A guided email in which you write to a friend about a specific topic, for example - the preparation of a party, a holiday, a particular problem in everyday life, etc ... The oral exam consists of: A conversation with another student and the teacher about interests, sports, family, studies, daily life etc.
